About us

The Council House is situated in the heart of our city, with Plymouth Hoe a short walk away it provides a convenient and central location for your ceremony.  

As you enter the building you are greeted with a grand staircase that leads to the Reception Room on the first floor.  The Council House is a listed building and contains many historical artefacts on public display and showcases Plymouth’s unique and interesting history.

The large and spacious Reception Room is the perfect setting for marriage, civil partnership and celebratory ceremonies, with seating for up to 56 guests.
