Located in the heart of Britain’s Ocean City; Plymouth’s largest, independent family owned hotel is ready to welcome you and your delegates for all your conferencing needs.
The New Continental Hotel has a choice of six flexible meeting and conference rooms for hosting seminars, conferences, training days, workshops or other events. From one to one interview rooms through to theatre style conferences for up to 350 delegates, we can accommodate groups of many varied sizes and requirements.
Our prestigious and beautiful event spaces are able to accommodate a huge variety of social occasions and business meetings.
Flexible function rooms in Plymouth’s city centre are all part of our hotels charm. Our Grand Ballroom, with its soft Victoria style and high ceilings along with stages can cater for large functions. Our Athena Room is the perfect room happily accommodating 40-150 delegates depending on layout and our light and bright Green Room offering space for 15-50 individuals.
Our skilled Head Chef has years of experience as well as the support of a dedicated and seasoned team, who prepare expertly crafted, freshly prepared, good food and creatively presented menus for your event.

Map & Directions
Road Directions
ROAD – The A38 Devon Expressway links Plymouth to the motorway network with a drive time from London of approx. 3.5 hours. Whichever way you come into Plymouth you will find the New Continental Hotel by following the signs clearly sign posted for Plymouth Pavilions, our neighbours! Firstly you will need to follow the signs for Plymouth City Centre. When you are near the city centre follow the brown tourist signs marked “Pavilions”. For more detailed directions visit google maps. We have a large car park. capable of parking for over 80 cars. This is on a first served basis and there is a charge of just £3.00 per day.
Public Transport Directions
RAIL - First Great Western runs a local service to the provinces and their high speed train service from Paddington takes approx. 3.5 hours. Virgin Cross Country offers direct services to the Midlands, North of England and Scotland. A gentle walk from the train station will take you approximately 15 minutes; alternatively there are Taxi Ranks outside that will drop you off at the New Continental Hotel reception for less that £5.00 and takes roughly 5 minutes depending on traffic.
SEA – Brittany Ferries operate roll on, roll off ferries to Plymouth from Roscoff in France and Santander in Northern Spain. From Plymouth Ferry Port we are a 13 minute walk away, a 4 minute car journey and 6 minutes by push bike (on the National Cycle Route 27). If you have a large vehicle that requires parking, please do phone in advance.
