‘Active-ist Poetry: What Can a Poem Make Happen? A Reading and Talk

Poet Lytton Smith will read from his new book, While You Were Approaching the Spectacle But Before You Were Transformed by It, which examines how we respond to natural disasters and international conflict. He'll discuss the works of other poets who seek to respond to global upheaval, and ask whether the poem can do more than inform or bear witness. He is the author of two books of poems and two novels translated from the Icelandic.'wildly imaginative, artful poems'. Boston Review
