Christmas service information from Great Western Railway
14th December 2016
On behalf of Great Western Railways please see important service information for passengers over Christmas and New year.
There will be a six day closure at London's Paddington Station over Christmas to allow for electrification and Crossrail works. The closure starts on Christmas Eve, Saturday 24 December through to Thursday 29 December.
As a result, train travel on Friday 23 December is expected to be very busy so a recommendation to customers to book ahead and travel as early as possible is advised. The trains will start and finish at Ealing Broadway throughout the closure and customers can complete their journey by London Underground.
Please note there are no lifts at Ealing Broadway station, therefore a recommendation for customers who may find using Ealing Broadway difficult can instead change trains at Reading and travel to and from London Waterloo.
South West Trains have agreed to accept Great Western Railway tickets to support this.
