Summer Funday This Sunday at Royal William Yard

The Drake Island Swim, DJs, BBQs, stand up paddle boards, birthdays, Competitions and Ladies Wimbledon final on the big screen and a Fashion show with Champagne - this Sunday is going to be HUGE at Royal William Yard.
There’s something for everyone at Plymouth’s spectacular Royal William Yard this Sunday (3rd July) with a day packed full of exciting happenings…
The day begins with the famous Drake Island swim organised by the Chesnut Appeal. This is a great swim for those new to Open Water Swimming and to anyone signed up for their first Breakwater swim in August. Entry to the Drakes Island Swim includes; full water safety support from Event Water Safety, an event swim cap, water and an end of swim snack. The swim starts at 9.45, but visitors will need to buy a ticket beforehand if they would like to take part (click here).
ID Fashion will Celebrate its 2nd birthday with a fashion show at 2pm before the ladies’ Wimbledon final and a best-dressed competition where entrants could win a £100 ID Fashion voucher. In the evening from 6pm to 9.30pm, there will also be a party with a bar and a BBQ.
A huge TV will also take pride of place on the Green on Sunday where the Wimbledon Finals will be played. Alongside the screen and deck chairs there will be short tennis, swing ball and table tennis and the main mast will be dressed.
Finally, to end the day of events visitors can head over to enjoy the stunning views at the Firestone Bay Archway where Dancer’s Hip will be hosting an evening of chilled music featuring DJ Junior and DJ I Culture. Whilst over at Victuals, The Yard visitors can pick up a paddle board from South West SUP and go for a paddle just along the beautiful Plymouth coast line.
The Grade 1 listed ex-Naval victualling Yard is also home to a wide range of amazing restaurants and bars including Victuals Cafe, Wagamama, Prezzo, Wildwood, Le Vignoble, The Column House Bakery @ Ocean Studios, Seco Lounge, Las Iguanas and Bistrot Pierre. The Yard is free to enter. Come by bike, boat, bus or walk and join in the fun.
