The village boasts not one, but two pubs which are located on the high street. These pubs offer a taste of the region's finest produce, including fresh seafood, artisan cheeses, and locally sourced meats, as well as temping you with ales, ciders and wines from local drink producers. Alongside the pubs is a Chinese takeaway offering succulent Asian cuisine, and a cafe which serves cream teas, cakes, snacks and light lunches. There’s also a farmshop and cafe just down the road which sells local organic and free-range produce. For a small village, the offerings here are plentiful!
Events in Yealmpton
On the last Wednesday in July the village puts on their annual Yealmpton Agricultural Show and attracts thousands of visitors from across Devon and beyond. It is a highlight of the local calendar and offers a fun-filled day out for families, farmers, and enthusiasts of rural life. Visitors can enjoy livestock displays showcasing the finest cattle, sheep, pigs, and poultry from local farms. As well as horse and pony competitions. In addition to the agricultural exhibits, the Yealmpton Show boasts a bustling trade show area where local businesses, artisans and food producers showcase their products and services. Visitors can browse stalls offering everything from handmade crafts and gifts to agricultural machinery and equipment.
Throughout the year the art gallery and studio in the village host a number of exhibitions and opens, plus the village hall hosts an array of events for the community.
Something a Little Different
Nearby Cann Woods boasts a segway experience where you can glide through the trees on a variety of different terrains. It’s a truly unique way of exploring the woods!
