Taking place at City College Plymouth, on Friday 24 January 2020 from 9.45am to 3pm.

This week sees the return of the hugely popular First Lego League Tournament, as the Plymouth Regional Tournament is held at City College Plymouth.

School children in Devon and Cornwall have spent months preparing for this event, which will put their autonomous robots to the test in a series of challenges themed around the topic, ‘City Shaper’.  The tournament, which is organised by the Institution of Engineering and Technology and Plymouth City Council, requires the pupils - aged between 9 and 16 - to use their developing design and programming skills to create a robot that can overcome a real-world problem potentially facing humanity.

This exciting event not only promotes STEM subjects, but also develops the children’s critical thinking and team skills as they work together in the hope of receiving the Lego trophy at the end of the event as well as a place in the FIRST ® LEGO ® League England National Final which will be held in Bristol this February.
