Our Economic Development and Skills Launchpad Plymouth teams are working closely with University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust to offer support to those Lighthouse Lab staff who are employed via agency. It was announced this week that the COVID-19 testing lab will be stepped down on 31 March 2022, after opening a year ago.

We will work with key city partners, including DWP, to provide a bespoke service to support the agency staff who will see their placement come to an end.

Our aim is to signpost staff to new roles in the city and to any financial support available in the interim. University Hospitals Plymouth will look to offer opportunities across their wider workforce.

The support package will include staff briefings that cover: guidance and information about searching for a new job, updates about the Plymouth labour market with direct job matching where possible, details of government support available, as well as sessions about CV writing and interview skills.

These sessions will be hosted as soon as possible, starting this week, with group and 1 to 1 sessions on offer.
