The 2022 European Museum of the Year Awards (EMYA) were announced in Tartu, Estonia at the weekend and Plymouth’s major new museum, art gallery and archive was among the winners.
A new exhibition which has just opened at The Box, Plymouth showcases new responses to the Mayflower story and highlights how some of our most historic craft practices have endured across the centuries.
The Box, which recently marked its first anniversary, has been awarded a grant of £146,500. The funding will provide valuable support as it continues its recovery from the challenges of the pandemic.
Today, The Box, Plymouth announces the appointment of Victoria Pomery as Chief Executive Officer of the city’s newly opened £47milllion museum, gallery and archive.
The Box has been awarded a £932,600 Capital Kickstart grant as part of the Government’s £1.57 billion Culture Recovery Fund, helping to support a number of capital costs that resulted from the Covid-19 crisis earlier this year.
