About us
Our mission is simple – to help our customers lead happier, healthier and more connected lives through climbing.
We are passionate about climbing. But more importantly we’re passionate about the impact that a social, challenging, supportive, progressive and fun activity can have on people’s lives, regardless of ability, age or fitness. Everything about the Hangar experience is designed to be easy to access, inclusive and friendly so you feel right at home, right away.
Big, beautiful and bold, the Hangar Plymouth is a world class climbing wall that’s as much fun to chill out in as it is to climb.
At The Climbing Hangar, it's not about being the best... just getting better, and having fun along the way. From classes for children or adults, beginners, to the skilful next steps or Hangar Women Rock sessions, there are a variety of coach led sessions to share with other likeminded climbers at a similar level of the game.
We offer a number of options for groups of adults and kids wanting to inject a bit of adventure into their activities. Whether you're looking for something different to do on your corporate awayday, a new challenge as part of a celebration, or giving a new sport a whirl to break up your PE sessions we can help.
We offer fun, friendly indoor climbing classes for kids aged 4 to 13, from absolute beginners to rising stars. Specialising in rope-free, low-wall bouldering problems, our Rock Club sessions are hosted by qualified kids climbing coaches, who also happen to be lovely people. So your kids can climb our walls, instead of climbing yours.
Rock Club offers progressive skills development for climbers aged 4 to 13 through a mix of formal coach-led climbing lessons for kids and supervised social events.
All kids climbing classes are based on the NIBAS syllabus, which is a recognised climbing certification, to keep kids motivated, and earn rewards. Small group sizes mean children get plenty of attention and we place as much emphasis on friendship and fun as we do on skills because climbing together leads to climbing better.
Our Hangar crews are also experienced working with groups who have specific physical needs or those who might just need a quiet space to enjoy their climbing - don't hesitate to ask and we'll see what we can do.
Equal to our love of climbing is our love for good coffee and food with friends. Our café has a variety of options, with a seasonal menu showcasing ethical and local products from Roastworks Coffee, VisforVeg cakes and Deli Charcuterie. All our food served in the cafe is freshly made each day, including our famous sourdough pizzas, bread and sandwiches by our talented cafe team.
