The Kitchen theatre stage plays host to a packed line-up of local chefs and famous faces, which in previous years has included Plymouth’s own Tanner Brothers, Chinese cookery sensation Ching He Huang and Master Chef of Great Britain Peter Gorton.
There is also Plymouth Seafood Festival, a two day celebration of the city’s enduring relationship with the sea and its traditional fishing industry, as well as its growing reputation as a food lover’s haven.
Showcasing Plymouth’s fantastic quality local seafood alongside demonstrations by local and celebrity chefs; teaching you how to create mouth-watering dishes using catch fresh off the boats.
The Royal William Yard Good Food Markets have been a huge success, with over 30 stall holders from Devon and Cornwall in attendance, including River Cottage, Thom Hunt from Channel 4’s Three Hungry Boys, the Red Earth Kitchen, and Cornish Orchards, with many stalls regularly selling out of produce. The market showcases some of the best local food and drink in the South West and takes place between 10am and 3pm on The Green at Royal William Yard on the first Sunday of the month.
People visiting the market in the ex-Naval Victualling Yard can travel by the Royal William Yard Ferry, from the historic Barbican, and enjoy spectacular views of Plymouth Sound and Mount Edgcumbe, Cornwall en route. The market itself enjoys views of the Sound and Royal William Harbour.
