Plymouth is privilaged to have some fantastic restaurants by some famous TV Chefs.
Chris & James Tanner
James Tanner was a regular on the popular TV show, Ready, Steady, Cook and ITV's Lorraine & Saturday Kitchen.
In 2003 Chris & James filmed their own 15 part series, The Tanner Brothers. 2006 & 2007 saw the publication of their books on chocolate and ice-cream and in October 2010 James published his first solo book, Take 5, which has been released throughout Europe and in the USA.
Their aim at Barbican Kitchen is to deliver fresh local food at a realistic price, they also let kids under 5 eat for free...what more could you ask for!
The celebrity chef, who also operates the River Cottage farm and cookery school opened his new restaurant in Plymouth because of it's strong fishing and market garden heritage. He wanted to use this locally sourced produce to create some fantastic food in a wonderful location - and that's coming from Hugh himself so definitely one to try out.
Marco Pierre White
Marco won his third Michelin star in 1995 at The Restaurant Marco Pierre White in London, becoming the youngest British chef, at the age of 33, to win three stars in the UK. He curates the Steakhouse Bar & Grill menu himself and diners can expect great steaks and timeless English and French classics.
