Autumn food fayre takes place this weekend
17th October 2016
Britain’s Ocean City’s Autumn Food Fayre, featuring Michelin star chef Peter Gorton, will be taking place at Frankfort Gate on Saturday 22 October between 10am and 4pm.
Using seasonal produce supplied by Tamar Fresh Ltd., Peter will be hosting a series of demonstrations which will take place at 11.30am, 1pm and 2pm, sponsored by Situ. He will be showing that people can cook easy, affordable meals that the whole family will love.
City Centre Manager, Jon Walton, said: “This is going to be one of the biggest food fayre's the West End of the city has seen, and it’s fantastic to have a chef of Peter’s calibre supporting it, I cannot thank him enough.
“A number of eateries in the West End are also providing offers for families on the Saturday and throughout half term, so don’t forget to download your trail card and take advantage of these deals.
“If that was’t enough to pull you in, we also have some fantastic traders with mouth-watering produce lined up too!”
The Autumn Food Fayre celebrates everything food related in the West End of the city and a number of cafes and restaurants are getting involved by providing a number of great deals, discounts and offers as part of the West End Food Trail, sponsored by Plymouth Community Homes.
Discounts and offers can be sought at places including; Rumpus Cosy, Eva’s World, Zeus, D&Ms cafe, Il Capriccio and Cafe Bistro 23. A full list of the participating shops and the offers available go to www.plymouthshopping.co.uk or pick up a trail card at the Food Fayre.
A selection of local food and drink traders will also be at the food fayre selling a range of tasty delights. These include custom made cakes, award-winning fudge, luxurious Belgian chocolates, freshly baked scones and delicious vinegars, oils, chutneys, sauces and dressings.
To celebrate this foodie heaven children are invited to take part in a Halloween themed competition, sponsored by Column Bakehouse.
Children taking part will need to bring a loaf of bread they have made into a spooky halloween face to the Food Fayre and place on the competition table by 3pm. All loafs submitted will be judged at 3.15pm with the winner walking away with a kids baking experience at the Column Bakehouse itself.
