Plymouth’s spectacular Armed Forces Day will be returning on Saturday 24 June. This fantastic award winning event will provide exciting entertainment, military exhibitions and displays, bands and stage performances, competitions and activities for the whole family to enjoy.
In the evening Plymouth Hoe will be transformed, with thousands of people expected to flock for the free concert.
We have an exciting line-up this year on the main stage, and our headline act promises to be a real treat, with rock legend Toyah Willcox.
Toyah has had an amazing career, she has amassed 13 top 40 singles, recorded 20 albums, written two books, appeared in over 40 stage plays and acted in 15 feature films including cult-classic British flick Quadrophenia.
Toyah’s hit singles: It’s A Mystery, I Want to Be Free, Brave New World and Be Proud, Be Loud, Be Heard plus the platinum albums Anthem and The Changeling – confirmed her status as one of the most significant talents of the Eighties.
In 1982 she won the Best Female Singer at the Rock & Pop Awards. Toyah will be in good company as we have Joey the Lips also performing on stage, with their outstanding 10 piece hi-energy band, more acts will be announced shortly. It is sure to be an exciting and lively evening.
