SCHOOLS OUT!! It's the start of the February half term....woohoo!!

We’ve pulled together five family friendly suggestions of things to do this weekend and into next week to keep the kids entertained.


Get crafty

Come along and make something fantastic at the Children’s Make & Take Workshops at the Armada Centre on Saturday. Choose from a fab range of Spring flowers, trees with blossom, rabbits, lambs, butterflies, bees, ladybirds,... and not forgetting yummy cakes. All materials are supplied, so you can get really hands on, and then take your creations home. It's Springtastic!

Be immersed

Head to the Market Hall and be immersed in the Legend of the Enchanted Reef - Dome Experience. On Friday to Sunday.

The clumsy and energetic reef fish Shorty, his smart sister Indigo and Jake, a daring sawfish, live in a colourful coral reef. When an enormous trawl devastates their reef, the three friends have no choice but to set out on an adventurous journey to find a new home. Full of humour and imagination, this film for the whole family raises awareness for the acuteness of marine conservation.

Play with clay

Get creative with clay at The Box from Saturday. Take creative inspiration from the major 'Songlines: Tracking the Seven Sisters' exhibition, which features large, vibrant paintings of the Australian deserts, and create your own landscape maps in clay.

Try some juggling

Brighten up the grey of winter by visiting Dartmoor Zoo this weekend and throughout the February half term (Saturday 19 – Sunday 27 February) and discover a wild world of colour!

Follow the trail around the Zoo to complete your colour by numbers picture and along the way, discover the importance of the crazy colours of the animal kingdom.

Custard Storm Productions will also be hosting two performances and entertaining workshops each day (morning and afternoon session), all included as part of your general admission ticket!

Whether you’re an avid juggler or first time novice, a team of highly trained circus artists will be on hand to make sure you have an amazing time and learn some incredible new skills.

Get bouncing

If you're looking for an activity for the whole family, look no further than Super Tramp. From this weekend and all through next week they will be providing plenty of sessions and opportunities for you to take the kids for a good old bounce... get them to expel some energy!
