About usThe Mount Batten Centre, Plymouth is the premier provider in the southwest for outdoor adventurous activities. Through out the year it continually offers individuals and groups the opportunity to experience and develop their skill base in a variety of exciting activities.
Everything from half-day sessions to weeklong courses is offered.
The centre is ALAA licensed and holds RYA recognition.
Based on the edge of Plymouth Sound the centre provides the ideal location for all water sport needs. A full selection of RYA sailing, powerboating and windsurfing courses are offered, from beginner to advanced. The surrounding estuaries, coves, and bays are ideal for kayak and canoe training and allow for plenty of exploration.
Our caving days allow you to explore the depths of Devon. Nr Buckfastleigh on the edge of Dartmoor, there are a selection of caves and tunnels that provide a great introduction to the challenges found underground.
A interesting and challenging way to enjoy the views of Plymouth Sound and the surrounding coastline is to enjoy a day's climbing on the natural climbing / abseiling wall at the centre. Coasteering is proving a popular choice; including a trip by powerboat to a unique location where you then climb, scramble, and jump and swim your way along a stretch of coastline.
With the close proximity of Dartmoor the centre runs a variety of moor land based activities, orienteering, navigation / expeditioning and gorge walking.
With the diverse range of activities managed from the centre we are long time specialists in providing tailor made multi-activity days and week programmes.
We have a comprehensive youth programme which runs throughout the school holidays and have a Saturday Clubs for sailing and windsurfing running weekly through out the year.
