Category: Food and Drinkeating out

Shelter from the elements this winter in one of Plymouth's many fantastic cosy eateries. From luxury dining, pub classics or delghtful bistros, there are plenty of ways to get snug, warm up and enjoy amazing, locally-sourced food.

Get your tastebuds tingling and check out some of our highlights.

Jolly Jacks

Dine beside the boats at the Mayflower Marina in the warm and welcoming bistrot of Jolly Jacks. The dog-friendly venue offers a relaxed dining experience with views spanning across the water to the Royal William Yard. It is the perfect location for a get-together, whether that be a big brunch to gear you up for the day or a mouthwatering Sunday roast dinner.

Àclèaf at Boringdon Hall

Indulge in intimate luxury at the Michelin Star Àclèaf at Boringdon Hall. Àclèaf , which means Oak Leaf in Old English, offers locally sourced food in an elegant setting, where head chef Scott Patton promises a gastronomic journey with a unique four-course meal.

Fisherman's Arms

Dine by the roaring fire in what is reputedly the second oldest pub in Plymouth at the Fisherman's Arms. Dishing up fresh popular pub classics at The Barbican, the venue is a cosy spot to head to. A warm, welcoming atmosphere is guaranteed with every visit.

The Waterfront Pub

Settle down with a drink and relax with unrivalled views of Plymouth Sound from The Waterfront Pub on Plymouth Hoe. The pub underwent a makeover in the Winter of 2023 and offers comfortable dining in a welcoming environment. Keep warm by the bar, or enjoy a hot drink on the outside terrace. This pub has it all.

Seco Lounge

Among the 'go-to' places for food and drink in the popular Royal William Yard is Seco Lounge. Encased in the large stone walls of the former Mills Bakery Building of the yard, Seco is a sociable atmospheric hub for dining out, enjoying a cool drink or heating up from the chilly weather with a coffee.

Take a seat in the warmth and look out across the water to South East Cornwall, and if you time your visit right, you may be treated to a fantastic sunset on the horizon.

Salumi

Spread across three levels, the popular Salumi offers a delightful ambience and great dining options this winter.

Their popular bagels are hit with the locals, while Sunday Roasts, including the delicious roast beef sirloin, are always worth a try. The accommodating team provide a fantastic atmosphere in the qwerky venue which is conveniently located between the city centre and the seafront.

Cosy Club

It would be rude not to include the aptly named 'Cosy Club' in this feature. Situated in the popular Drake Circus, The Barcode complex, its stunning chandeliers and luxury furniture create the perfect atmosphere to enjoy brunch, lunch, dinner or one of their gorgeous cocktails.

Seco opened in March 2010 in the Mills Bakery building at the historic Royal William Yard development in Stonehouse. My word Seco is a sexy site with fat stone walls, colossal steel columns & a stunning view out to sea.
