Three years on from purchasing Drake’s Island and plans are coming together nicely. We have cleared and made safe large areas of the island with more to come for next year and having opened it up to the public, have seen fantastic growth in numbers visiting the island for our guided tours. This year saw us expand on that and start focusing on larger events. We have had a ‘Fright Night’, where almost 100 participants, navigated their way around the island using clues, whilst being frightened by some of the most recognisable movie monsters.  We hosted an event for SailGP, giving our visitors absolutely the best view of the racing and we hosted an event (the very first) to watch the British Fireworks Championships from the island, not to mention the start of our corporate offerings.

In 2023, we are looking to grow our corporate event offering, opening the island up to businesses, whether that is for hosting a party, a presentation or something more formal, right through to team building activities such as Kayaking, Survival experiences and Airsoft.

Drake’s Island truly is a unique destination and the short ferry ride from Plymouth’s Barbican, transports you to another, beautiful and mysterious world where we can tailor a multitude of different experiences to suit any corporate requirement.

Every event we host comes with a fascinating historical tour of the island, regaling stories of smuggling, prisons, engineering strategy, drunken soldiers and even JFK’s son. After that it’s up to you, we work with a host of partners to provide the widest range of activities on the island, whether you want to host an afternoon tea or engage in coasteering around the circumference of the island, we can make it happen.

If the physical activities aren’t for you, how about Gin tasting / cocktail making, we have our very own Drake’s Island Gin or if scary is more your thing, come and join us on one of our unique ghost tours around the Island or get involved in a paranormal investigation and delve into the spirit presence on the island.

Drake’s Island is a magnificent monument to the history of the sea defences around Plymouth but it is also an island that can offer, tranquility, fun, excitement and the most beautiful sunsets and views. Why not choose ‘The Jewel in Plymouth Sound’ for your next corporate event.

Smuggling, jails, engineering strategies, intoxicated warriors, and even John F. Kennedy's son are just some of the tales that are told during the interesting historical tour of the island that we provide for each and every event that we hold. https://snowrider3d.com
