Nominate your Community Hero for the Barbican Christmas Lights Switch On

Nominations are now open for the Plymouth Waterfront Partnership Community Hero Award 2026.

The award is a way to recognise and acknowledge the invaluable contributions of individuals or organisations that help to make a difference in the Plymouth community.

Last year Mehdi Taheri was the Plymouth Waterfront Community Hero – Mehdi had the honour of switching on the Barbican Christmas Lights, and this year’s winner will have the opportunity to the do same.

Using the nomination form below provide your reasons for nominating your community hero, explaining how they have gone above and beyond to help the local community.
