Tasty Treats Galore as Plymouth Lands the Best Food the Sea can Offer

It’s time to heat up the oven and get those plates warming as Plymouth prepares to cook up a storm at this year’s Plymouth Seafood Festival.
With a line-up of top chefs preparing to showcase their culinary skills, the festival has been getting more and more popular, attracting some of the region’s best talent and most mouth-watering cuisine. |

And there will be craft stands, marine conservation stalls, and a wonderful variety of food stalls for visitors to sample the delights of everything from lobsters to seaweed. |
Plymouth lands 13 per cent of England’s entire fish catch each year, supporting around 900 fisherman and 500 fishing vessels. |
Which is why the city is renowned for its wonderful seafood restaurants which dot the city’s Waterfront. |
And why Plymouth was the first in the world to be awarded the Fish2Fork Blue Fish status for its commitment to sourcing sustainable fish. |
New for the 2017 event, is a second demonstration area at Quay Square, where visitors |

The food bonanza also includes events for the little ones, from a special crabbing competition run by The Boathouse Café to the chance to join in the fun with members of CaterEd, who will be leading some hands-on cookery activities, there will also be a fun trail for children, which will be available from the Tourist Information Centre. |
On Saturday visitors will also be able to watch – or, if feeling brave - take part in the IMechE Cardboard Boat Race at Commercial Wharf where entrants have to build a boat out of sticky tape and bits of cardboard. The winner is the last boat to sink. |
