Penguin winners p-p-pick up their prizes!
23rd January 2020
The two lucky winners of the city centre’s Christmas trail, Penguins: A LEGO® brick trail have been announced.
Ethan Dustan aged seven, is the winner of the family weekend to LEGOLAND® Windsor Resort and 12-year-old Esme Matthews won a penguin feeding experience at Living Coasts.
Both children were delighted with their prizes, and enjoyed finding the 20 LEGO brick penguins hidden in shops and businesses throughout the city centre.
Ethan was presented with his prize by Steve Hughes, Chief Executive of Plymouth City Centre Company, and Lesley Shorrocks from Plymouth Citycoach. The presentation took place at the Central Library alongside the LEGO brick Emperor penguin.
Steve Hughes said: “It’s been fantastic to see families, friends and school groups enjoying our unique LEGO brick trail again this year. The retailers have really got behind this campaign too, with their Christmas window displays, competitions and special offers.”
The trail is just one of the many events put on by the Plymouth City Centre Company to attract more visitors and customers for the benefit of city centre businesses.
The Company runs the city centre Business Improvement District (BID) which provides a wider range of initiatives and services.
City centre business owners and managers will be voting later this month on whether the BID should continue for another five years and are encouraged to vote yes to support more than £3m of direct investment over the next five years.
