Theatre Royal Plymouth to Host Livestream of HM The Queen’s Funeral on Monday 19 September
15th September 2022
On Monday 19 September Theatre Royal Plymouth will broadcast HM The Queen’s funeral from The Lyric Theatre, so that the people of the city and region, can share this important moment in history.
TRP will provide a space where communities can come together for this moment, and where people who live alone can take comfort from experiencing the funeral proceedings in a shared environment.
James Mackenzie-Blackman, CEO of Theatre Royal Plymouth said: “We are in the business of bringing people together. Next Monday we will broadcast the Queen’s funeral from The Lyric so members of our community who want to share the experience with others can do so. I’m especially aware that those living alone, community groups and other local organisations, might especially make use of this offer. It’s important to us that the event is free, informal with the ability for people to join us for as much of the day as they would like. This is an important civic role for us and one we are grateful to be delivering in partnership with Plymouth City Council.”
Spaces for the event will be on a first come first served basis, with people able to come and go throughout the day as they please.
More information will be shared on TRP’s website in due course. Anyone wishing to attend the screening who has access requirements please contact our Box Office.
This event is supported by Plymouth City Council.
