Plymouth Christmas Market unwraps opportunities for young traders
16th December 2025

This year’s Plymouth Christmas Market is not only about festive flavours and seasonal cheer, it’s also about celebrating the next generation of business talent. Market Place, the award-winning organisers behind the event, have partnered with the National Market Traders Federation (NMTF) to champion young entrepreneurs in the South West by donating a dedicated chalet to showcase their work.
The Young Traders Chalet is currently shared by four emerging businesses, each presenting their products to thousands of visitors in the heart of the city. On a rotational basis, Fitzhughes Ceramics is displaying beautifully handcrafted ceramics, Pearly Queens Boutique is offering high-quality ladies’ fashion, Ellabee’s Illustration is sharing animal-inspired artwork, and Alex Alligns is showcasing striking jewellery made from recycled silver.
Alex Pidgen, Market Manager at Market Place, said: “Supporting young traders is something Market Place feel passionately about. Markets have always been a place where new ideas can flourish, and giving these businesses a platform at Plymouth Christmas Market is a fantastic way to help them grow.’’
Joe Harrison, CEO of the NMTF, added: “Market Place’s support for the Young Traders campaign is invaluable. For many of these entrepreneurs, Plymouth Christmas Market represents a major step forward - an opportunity to reach new audiences, gain experience, and build confidence in their businesses. It’s initiatives like this that ensure markets remain vibrant and relevant for future generations.”
With its mix of international flavours, handmade gifts, and festive entertainment, Plymouth Christmas Market is bringing seasonal cheer to the heart of the city. Visitors can enjoy shopping, eating, and celebrating in a magical atmosphere while also supporting the region’s young rising stars.
