Jaws drop as 20ft shark arrives at Royal William Yard
8th July 2025
A magnificent 20ft wicker shark is making waves at Royal William Yard as the popular Plymouth destination launches Shark Month. The impressive 'Basket Shark' sculpture - a hand-crafted, life-size basking shark created by Falmouth University's Duncan Cameron from salvaged bamboo, willow, and pallet wood - has arrived at the Shark Trust Pop-up Shop as part of a programme of awareness, art and advocacy activities.
The partnership between Royal William Yard and Plymouth-based international conservation charity the Shark Trust brings marine conservation to the heart of the city's historic waterfront. Find out more here: Sharks return to Royal William Yard in July - Visit Plymouth
