Festive magic returns: Plymouth’s Winter Wonderland set to sparkle

Lace up your skates and gather your friends – Plymouth’s Winter Wonderland is back! Following last year’s resounding success, the magical winter festival returns to Central Park from Friday 20 November 2026 to Sunday 3 January 2027.

Plymouth is set to shine brighter than ever this Christmas, with a host of festive delights for all ages. Step into a Winter Wonderland of twinkling lights, festive music, and Christmas cheer – perfect for making memories. The entire site will be decorated with twinkling lights, huge illuminated Christmas trees & jolly festive characters.

Here’s what’s to come:

Undercover Real Ice Rink

Glide under a canopy of twinkling lights on our real ice rink and enjoy 45-minute ice skating sessions complete with a Christmas disco. Skating aids are available to book, so that everyone can have a brilliant time on ice – whatever the ability. The first session on Tuesdays, until the school holidays, is a quiet session. During this time, the music will be turned off and the lights will be fixed to one colour with no flashing effects.

Santa’s Enchanted Grotto

Take a truly magical journey through the North Pole to the Enchanted Forest and to the Elves’ Workshop before meeting Father Christmas himself and receiving a special gift for the children. Have a family picture taken and turn it into a beautiful keepsake or a Christmas gift for your loved ones. This year, Santa’s Enchanted Grotto will operate an online time-slot booking system to help you avoid disappointment, long queues and guarantee your visit goes smoothly.

Live Music and Performances

The Alpine Ski Lodge features an indoor and outdoor bar area, covered seating and a live entertainment stage. Feel the festive vibes under the glow of 1000s of Christmas lights in the heated undercover venue. The Alpine Lodge is at the heart of Plymouth’s Winter Wonderland, featuring a variety of musicians, choirs and character appearances, performing on stage throughout the season. This year, we have performances from top musicians such as Andy Marshall (Crooner), Tom Baker, Take a Chance on Us (Abba tribute), Rogue Minogue (Kylie tribute), Timeless Trio and many more.

Festive Food & Drink Stalls

Indulge in a comforting variety of seasonal treats from local vendors. From authentic German sausages, Yorkshire pudding wraps, succulent burgers, Greek delights and warming festive fruit crumbles to hot chocolates topped with marshmallows & a flake or even your favourite tipple, there’ll be something for everyone to enjoy. You can even toast marshmallows over the warming fire pit.

Fairground Rides

Get ready for more adventures for all the family! This year sees the addition of a brand new, high speed thrilling new ride – Vision. The fairground rides will be operating a token system and the family game stands can be enjoyed using tokens or cash/card payments.

Explore Plymouth’s Winter Wonderland village, filled with festive decorations and props perfect for family photos. Well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome to enjoy the Christmas magic with you.

Located in Plymouth’s Central Park, the site offers ample parking nearby; it’s also easily accessible by public transport and just a short walk from the train station.
