More than 80 food and drink producers and some of the best chefs from across the south west are getting ready to welcome visitors to the region’s biggest free food and drink festival.
Flavour Fest returns to Plymouth City Centre for three days on May 29, 30 and 31 with a huge variety of food, drink, chefs’ demos, live music and continental market.
Organised by the Plymouth City Centre Company, the main event takes place on the Piazza with award winning chef Peter Gorton opening proceedings on the ever-popular chefs’ demo stage at 10am on the Friday morning.
The continental market will add to the international flavour with 20 stalls spreading out up New George Street and live music will again feature on all three days on the entertainment zone on the Civic Square sponsored by The Treasury Bar.
New this year, by popular demand, will be Flavour Fest for a Fiver with many traders signing up to provide taster dishes or smaller plates, making the event more affordable or giving visitors the opportunity to try different menus.
The event is expected to attract about 100,000 visitors over the three days, providing a huge boost to the Plymouth economy and comes at a time when the £30m transformation of Armada Way is nearing completion.
Steve Hughes, chief executive of the Plymouth City Centre Company, said: “We are delighted to have such a good line-up of traders and chefs and look forward to welcoming visitors to our new and improving city centre.”
