Acts announced and tickets on sale for first ever Plymouth Comedy Festival

The Chase star Paul Sinha, Marcus Brigstocke and Hal Cruttenden are among the comedians announced for the first Plymouth Comedy Festival, taking place across five city venues from 5–7 February 2027.

Harriet Dyer, Tony Law, Matt Richardson, Morgan Rees, Robin Morgan and Plymouth comedian Suzy Bennett also feature in the programme, which goes on sale on Friday 25 September.

Created by the team behind Laughter Lab, the festival marks a move from regular comedy nights to a city wide weekend, with performances at The Box, The Barbican Theatre, University of Plymouth, Bread & Roses and Steel Brew.

Alongside stand-up and improvised comedy, the programme includes the Utopian Comedy Competition, Plymouth Comedy Tours: Indoors and Plymouth: A Funny Old City, a historical talk exploring the city’s relationship with humour. Shows are individually ticketed, with no general festival ticket or wristband required.

Audiences can choose a single performance or build their own schedule across the weekend. Ben Milden, Festival Director, said: “The ambition is that people come to Plymouth for a weekend of comedy, not just travel in for one show and go home again. “The names people know are important, but so are the local comedians and independent venues. We want someone who books for a familiar face to discover another act, another room or another part of Plymouth while they’re here. “We’ve chosen February because we want to give people something to look forward to in the middle of winter, and build an event the city can make its own.”

Comedian and Strictly Come Dancing presenter Josh Widdicombe is supporting the festival as its ambassador. He is not part of the performing line-up. Widdicombe said: “Plymouth is a city that means a great deal to me, so it is brilliant to see a comedy festival bringing fantastic acts and audiences together across the city. I’m delighted to support its first year as an ambassador and excited to see what it can become.”
