Sponsors & Partners for British Firework Championships
Thanks to this year's sponsors and partners for supporting the British Firework Championships.
Headline Sponsor - Associated British Ports
Associated British Ports (ABP) are once again the headline sponsor for the British Firework Championships in Plymouth. ABP is the UK’s largest port operator and owns and operates Plymouth’s Millbay Docks, which is a key hub for Brittany Ferries. The dock contributes over £93m to the UK economy, handling around 80,000 tonnes of cargo each year. The Millbay Ferry Terminal is recently undergone strategic infrastructure upgrades, worth a total of £23m. This was a combined investment from ABP, Brittany Ferries and with support from the Plymouth and South Devon Freeport seed capital programme.
This work will help to secure the long-term future of the Ferry Terminal, strengthen the port’s freight capability, increase the port’s green credentials and help to grow the thriving Plymouth cruise market. The upgrades have included:
- The installation of a state-of-the-art passenger boarding bridge, improving accessibility and streamlining the boarding process.
- A strengthened West Wharf, enabling the port to accommodate larger vessels and increased freight volumes.
- A modernised terminal building with enhanced passenger amenities and operational efficiency.
- Upgraded freight and cruise infrastructure, supporting Plymouth’s ambitions for sustainable economic growth and increased maritime traffic.
ABP, Plymouth City Council and Brittany Ferries have also pledged to work together to support Millbay Docks to grow and work towards Net Zero. ABP is a committed member of the Plymouth business community and regularly supports a wide range of events and charities.

Charity Partner - Jeremiah's Journey
Jeremiah’s Journey is a local bereavement charity dedicated to providing age appropriate therapeutic interventions to children, young people and their families to ensure they have support at a sad and difficult time.
The aim is to reduce prolonged and traumatic distress after bereavement.
We believe that no child or young person should be alone in their grief and we aim to ensure that they can face the future with the skills necessary to continue with their lives more fully, with grief being one part of their life, but not the sole focus.
One child in 29 will experience the death of a parent or sibling and Jeremiah’s Journeys involvement helps them and their families to build resilience and can prevent future referrals to child or mental health services.
Services are Free to children, young people and their families across Plymouth and the surrounding areas.
The charity receives no statutory funding and relies on the generosity of the public and local businesses to enable them to provide support to over 700 children and young people every year with the wider family benefit extending to 2000 people annually.
