The Box Plymouth

The Box opened in September 2020 following a £47m regeneration of Plymouth’s former City Museum, Central Library, and St Luke’s Church. Since then, it’s welcomed over one million visits – and it’s free to enter!

Open 10am–5pm, Tuesday to Sunday and selected bank holidays, The Box features permanent galleries showcasing art, natural history, maritime heritage, film, photography, and archives. A changing programme of major exhibitions brings world-class art to Plymouth.

Enjoy the Kitchen & Bar, shop, research facilities, and a year-round events schedule with family activities, talks, and tours – many free.
