About us
After a short summer sabbatical Comedy returns to Tavistock! Come brighten up these dark times and get some laughter back in your life. Local Plymouth Promoters "A Press of Suspects {presents}'' are returning to bring their unique brand of comedy night to good ol' Tavy! Taking place in the unusual setting of the old Courtroom at the reopened World Heritige Guildhall on the 30th September. This night promises to be a bundle of laughs with a great varied line up with FIVE fantastic comics. Tickets either £10/14, pay what you can afford - you'd be a fool to miss out . All hosted by the anarchic, owl obsessed Willtordian Ballorian Edwardian.
Andrew White: Andrew performs all over the country at various clubs, festivals, and corporate events throughout the year. Most notably, he's taken four successful shows to the famous Edinburgh Fringe.
"Flamboyantly repressed and optimistically cynical, Andrew White is a stand-up fast rising through the comedy ranks with an act that's "not to be missed" (Daily Record).
"Very exciting and very funny"
(Joe Lycett)"Absolutely Brilliant...took the stage by storm" (Wiltshire Live").
Anna Keirle: In 2003 Anna replied to an advert for new comedians. She had no material and had never done a stand up set. Her third ever gig saw her come second in the Funny Women awards. She reached the Edinburgh Fringe final of "So you think you're funny?" with her fifth gig, compered by Bill Bailey .Her sixth gig was in Torquay on a Wednesday night.
Anna has a cheeky comedic storytelling style and has been described as a bumpkin, she has, however ,won the Weakest Link! Performing as a standup locally and Internationally a quick witted, responsive MC she has experience from festivals, and clubs to prestigious events.
Kev Mud: After a life of living on and off the streets, Kev is now hiding away in a caravan on a sheep field. Surreal, warm and cuddly, but with a sharp edge. He's only been going for a few months but has already graced stages from Falmouth to London to Glastonbury alongside acts from Mock The Week, QI and Never Mind The Buzzcocks.
Julie Mullen: An actor, a poet, a performance artist and a very very funny lady. Julie has been performing for over 20 years and has always enjoyed improvising with comedy and characters. Who knows what she will do!
Tickets are £10 or £14 – you decide, the more you pay the more the comics get.
