The National Marine Aquarium is celebrating this amazing summer by taking the fun and discovery outdoors! Make the most out of this gorgeous weather with these amazing events:

Ocean Squad

The National Marine Aquarium’s astounding club for teens, Ocean Squad, is perfect for anyone aged 11 – 15 with a passion for all things marine. With behind-the-scenes tours, science experiments, sustainable seafood cooking, snorkelling safaris, and so much more, these are jam-packed weeks with loads to get involved with!

Not only is the week packed with activity, teens will also get their own Ocean Squad t-shirt, a memory stick with highlights of their time and a year’s pass to the Aquarium. The next weekly sessions starts on 27 August. For more information email

NMA Boat Trips

New for 2018, the National Marine Aquarium has been holding extra special Boat Tours around the gorgeous Plymouth Sound. Guided by one of the Aquarium’s Marine Biologists or Ocean Conservationists, it’s bound to be a fascinating and scenic event for all family and friends to enjoy! Suitable for all ages this is the sure way to connect with your Ocean and see some of the amazing local wildlife for yourself.

Beach Outreach

Throughout this Summer Holiday, you can meet the hosts from the National Marine Aquarium out on the seashore for some fantastic fun! There’s loads for the family to enjoy including rockpool rambling, beach cleans, and beach activities based on exploration and discovery. It’s a great way to make the most of the incredible weather and connect with your ocean.

Outreach activities continue from Tuesday 14 August at Jennycliff Beach. They’ll also be doing outreach on Teats Hill Beach (just outside the NMA), Mount Batten Beach, and Hannafore Beach (Looe). Find out more, including dates and times, here.
