From unique independents to big-name chains, Plymouth is the place to head for all your Christmas shopping needs. You’ll find gifts for the whole family in the shops, boutiques and markets throughout the city.

City Centre…

Head to Drake Circus to find big brands under one roof, with Christmas staples M&S, Next and Boots on offer. There’s something for everyone, with Joules and Cath Kidston offering perfect presents for mums, Skinnydip London and Jack Wills full of presents for fashion focussed teens and stocking fillers galore at Tiger, Primark and Paperchase. For jewellery, there’s a wealth of choice, from Pandora, Ernest Jones and Fraser Hart to the local Drake’s Jewellers. And if it’s big-ticket gifts you’re looking for, pop into the Apple Store!

With a grotto for children, late-night shopping on Thursdays and parking all under one roof, make sure you pay a visit this December.

If you’re looking for more big brands, make sure to head to the high street, with stores including House of Fraser, Debenhams and Flannels, all home to an impressive range of designer brands.

The West End…

Plymouth’s West End is a treasure trove of independent shops and the 150-stall Plymouth Market, making it the place to head for unique gifts and fresh produce.

For a gift with that personal touch, visit the newly opened ‘Made For You Gifts’ shop in Frankfort Gate, which offers a range of gifts and decorations that can be personalised while you shop. Alternatively, head to Coronet Engravers in the market to personalise your presents and give a unique gift this Christmas.

And as an extra bonus, the parking in Plymouth’s West End is some of the cheapest in the city. Western Approach and Toys ‘R’ Us car parks charge just £1 an hour or £5 for the whole day, while Plymouth Market has its own car park designed for short trips.

The Barbican and Sutton Harbour…

Plymouth’s beautiful waterfront is home to a great range of art galleries, antique shops and quirky independent boutiques. If you’re trying to buy a gift for the person that has everything, this is the place to head.

A wander along Southside Street will lead you to lots of art galleries, selling a range of originals and prints, plus unique glass and homewares, cards and posters. Don’t forget the Plymouth Gin Distillery is here too, so you can pick up a bottle of the city’s favourite tipple or some extra special glasses.

Explore The House That Jack Built, home to an eclectic collection of shops selling gifts, or head to Chocaccino for delicious handmade chocolates.

If it’s wine lovers you’re buying for, head over to Sutton Harbour to explore the recently opened HonkyTonk Wine Library, selling wines from around the world.

Royal William Yard…

The beautiful grade II listed Yard is home to a small collection of independent shops, including the creative hub of Ocean Studios, wine merchants Le Vignoble and womenswear store ID Fashion.

Ocean Studios sells artistic creations from local makers, including the new Made In Plymouth range, all authentically local products, that are designed and produced in the Plymouth area. The range includes tea towels, coasters, jewellery and homeware – all with an extra special Plymothian twist.
