Global superstar Tom Jones is returning to Devon with an unmissable performance at Central Park this weekend and it promises to be an unforgettable evening of entertainment.

The concert will feature a collection of Tom’s most popular hits across the decades, including his latest albums.

Plymouth is easily accessible by train with a wide range of services running from a variety of locations within England. Although some services may require a change or two.

Travelling from London takes around 3 hours with Great Western Railway, if you're coming from the north, the trip from Manchester can take 5 hours 15 minutes. 

Alternatively, the recently renovated Night Riviera Sleeper service runs Monday – Friday and Sunday evenings. Visit gwr.com/sleeper for more details on times and how to book.

Where and when is the concert?

The Tom Jones concert is being held in Cottage Fields in Central Park. This is one of the four fields next to the park clock, located in the north of Central Park. You’ll find it near to the Life Centre and Plymouth Argyle football stadium. The main entrance gate is situated adjacent to the Box Office at the back of the Plymouth Life Centre. A second entrance is situated next to the Meadow Café.

The concert takes place on Saturday 18 September, with gates opening from 4pm and remaining open for entry throughout the evening. It is expected that the concert will finish around 10.30pm.

There will be a number of support acts performing before Tom Jones, including Chris Simmons, The Dunwells and Megan McKenna. Set times will not be released as they are subject to change.

    

Are there tickets still available?

Limited tickets are still available for the Tom Jones concert through the ticket agents listed below.

Various upgrades are also available to purchase, such as Fast Track or Private Toilet & Bar.

If any tickets remain on the day of the concert, you can purchase them from the Box Office which will open at 2pm and close around 9pm. This is located in the Plymouth Argyle FC Box Office.

Disabled and accessible tickets for this event are available from Ticketmaster, on a first-come, first-served basis. These can be booked online.

If you have purchased a ticket and the physical ticket has not arrived in time for the event, please visit the box office on the day of the concert and you will be able to collect your ticket.

   

Food and Drink

There will be a large selection of caterers and bars selling alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and food to suit most dietary requirements.

Card payment facilities will be in place across a number of food venders; however, service may become unreliable with a large crowd. Bar tokens can be purchased using a card. Please ensure you bring ample cash.

You will need to purchase bar tokens before heading to the bars. Bar tokens can be redeemed at the concert bars, and can be purchased from token booths situated around the arena, as well as from the box office.  Each token will have a value of £5.50, however if you purchase tokens in multiples of 5 or 10 the purchase price is reduced.​​

     

Travel information

Travelling by car

If you’re travelling by car, parking (including 28 disabled parking spaces) will be available close to the concert venue at the Milehouse Park & Ride site. However, this parking is limited and on a first come, first served basis.

Alternatively, you can park in the city centre and catch a bus to the event – more information is available below in the ‘Travelling by bus’ section.

City centre parking is available at the following sites close to bus routes and normal parking charges apply: Western Approach, Colin Campbell Court, Derry’s Cross Roundabout (behind Walkabout), Theatre Royal, Civic Centre and Guildhall car parks.

Theatre Royal and Western Approach car parks will remain open overnight to ensure visitors will be able to exit with their cars.

Taxis are able to drop off and pick up from Mayflower Drive, PL2 3DF.

Travelling by bus

If you are using buses to get to and from the venue, please check disruption reports before travelling on the day to avoid any disappointment, this can be done on the operators websites via the following links:

If you’re parking in the City Centre, the most direct route to the venue will be bus service 101, operated by Stagecoach South West, which departs from Royal Parade (stop A14). The stops on Royal Parade can be found at Royal Parade Bus Stop Locations.

If you are parking at Western Approach, bus services 2, 2A, 11, 12, 12A, 16, 33, 43, 50, & 72 will provide a link to the Milehouse bus depot on Alma Road, which is a short walk from the concert venue.

If you live in Millbay, Royal William Yard, Devonport or Stoke, then the Service 34 operated by Plymouth Citybus provides a half hourly service to concert venue, and the Service 34 will depart the venue at 10.32pm.

Stagecoach South West are providing a non-stop shuttle service from the George Park and Ride to the concert venue every 10 minutes from 3.35pm until 6.25pm. This service will return from the concert to the George Park & Ride following the concert finish and will operate continuously until everyone has been taken back to the George. This shuttle service is in addition to the normal 101 Park and Ride service linking the two sites.

Tickets for the shuttle cost £2.80 return per person or £6.80 for a group of up to four people. Concessionary bus passes will be valid on this service. 

There is no direct Park and Ride service from Coypool to the venue.

Travelling by coach

If you are arriving into Plymouth via the Coach Station then the Park and Ride service 101 departs Royal Parade at stop A14.

Travelling by train

In you are arriving by train you can catch a bus from Pennycomequick Hill to the venue, the stop is a short walk from the station.

The services you can catch from this stop are the 2, 2A, 11, 12, 12A, 16, 33, 43, 50, 72 & 101.

If you are returning to the station from the venue then you can catch the bus from the stop on Alma Road. The services you can get from these stop are 2, 2A, 12, 51, 16, 33 & 43.

    

Plan ahead

  • Please check the forecast before you go. As the concert will be outside, dress appropriately and wrap up warm. Umbrellas must be taken down during the show so if rain is on the forecast remember to bring a waterproof.
  • Plan your journey in advance. The roads will be busy, so take public transport or walk if you can, and check out detailed our travel information in advance.
