Saturday 23 to Sunday 31 October

Dress the kids in their finest costumes and take part in the city centre Halloween Trail this October half term, giving the kids something fun to do during the holidays.

All you have to do is locate the 15 Halloween characters displayed in shop windows around the city centre to be in with a chance of winning £100 to spend in Waterstones

The Barbican Halloween Trail

Monday 25 to Sunday 31 October

Don’t Feed the Sea Ghouls - This year's Halloween Trail on the Barbican. All you have to do is pick up your trail map from the Tourist Information Centre, follow the havoc the Sea ghouls have created around the shops on the Barbican (you’ll find their green splatts in the shop windows) and collect your treat.

Funky Llama Festival

Friday 29 and Saturday 30 October

This October half-term, step right up to the greatest show in town for two big days! Join us in Plymouth’s Central Park for some Big Top magic and funky Halloween fun. With wild costumers, wacky workshops and magical moments for everyone to enjoy. 

Expect live music, DJs, craft stalls, a fully licensed bar, circus acts, comedy and magic from local and national performers.

Boo at the Zoo

Friday 29 and Saturday 30 October

This Halloween, Dartmoor Zoo is opening its gates after dark to invite you on a spooktacular trail through the Zoo!

Join them on Friday 29 and Saturday 30 October between 5.30pm – 9pm for a FRIGHTfully good evening, offering screams of laughter as you won’t know what’s lurking around the corner. 

Listen out for a rustling amongst the trees and peeping eyes as you make your way through the park, meeting lots of different characters along the way.

Quest for the Ice Dragon

Friday 15 to Sunday 24 October

Be part of the adventure and join the Soapbox Theatre for this immersive enchanted adventure in search of the Ice Dragon. Jump into your welly boots, woolly hats, gloves and scarves... pop a hot water bottle up your jumper. Come what may, they're off on a magical journey to find the Ice Dragon and nothing's going to stand in their way.

Pesky Pumpkin Trail at Saltram

Take part in the Pesky Pumpkin trail at Saltram during half term. Children will have to hunt high and low for the eight pumpkins hidden in the garden and identify the autumnal animal on each one. Look out for details being released soon on their website.

   

Woodland Witchcraft Trail at Buckland Abbey

Dress in your spookiest outfit and head to Buckland Abbey for a fun Halloween woodland witchcraft trail.

This Autumn and half term head out as a family and explore the ancient woodlands on the yellow route. As you follow the trail, you will discover all the folklore tales surrounding the superstition of trees.

Collect your Autumn trail sheet from Visitor Welcome and fill in your magical tree sheet. Trail available from Monday 20th September.

During October half term and Halloween, as well as exploring the estate, can you spot all the decorated pumpkins in the Abbey?

Plymouth is easily accessible by train with a wide range of services running from a variety of locations within England. Although some services may require a change or two.

Travelling from London takes around 3 hours with Great Western Railway, if you're coming from the north, the trip from Manchester can take 5 hours 15 minutes.
