This winter, The Box is running a great range of festive workshops for families to enjoy. Spend time together and get crafty, making something special to take home with you with the help of the museum's friendly and experienced facilitators.

Here's all the details:

Festive printmaking

27 and 28 November

Come and have a go at printing your own Christmas cards, gift tags and wrapping paper. Take your inspiration from the plants, starfish and Mildred the mammoth in The Box's natural history gallery. Use the ready-made ‘stamps’ or make your own 'printing blocks' to have lots of fun creating some special Christmas crafts that you’ll be proud of.

Clay candle holders

4 and 5 December

Create a very special candle holder that will make your Christmas candles really twinkle. A perfect gift to treasure! You'll learn different clay techniques using air dry clay, and take your inspiration from stars in the '100 Journeys' gallery and 'Songlines: Tracking the Seven Sisters' exhibition.

Bookmaking and marbling paper

11 and 12 December

Enjoy learning how to marble paper and create your own handmade book full of Christmas wishes to treasure and keep, or to give to a loved one. During this workshop you'll be experimenting with marbled paper and learning the basics of simple bookmaking, adding a little bit of magic to your unique creations.

Christmas decorations

18 and 19 December

Make your very own Christmas decorations from fabric, felt and ribbons to hang on the tree! Take the galleries as your starting point for ideas... what will capture your imagination? Will it be the mammoth, Captain Scott’s polar adventures, a snowy owl or something else? You’ll make treasures you’ll look forward to rediscovering every year.

Each workshop takes place at:

  • 10am to 11.30am

Book on The Box's website

Plymouth is easily accessible by train with a wide range of services running from a variety of locations within England. Although some services may require a change or two.

Travelling from London takes around 3 hours with Great Western Railway, if you're coming from the north, the trip from Manchester can take 5 hours 15 minutes.

Alternatively, the recently renovated Night Riviera Sleeper service runs Monday – Friday and Sunday evenings. Visit gwr.com/sleeper for more details on times and how to book.

We recommend using GWR.com to search for the fastest and best route for your journey, and book in advance for the best price.

It may be more difficult than it seems to find a job. I had been battling this issue for a while, but I couldn't figure out what I was doing incorrectly. I reviewed it again and wrote a professional cv writing service https://uk.careersbooster.com/ . Because a resume's quality can affect a job candidate's success, I decided to hire cv writing services in the UK. And at first I didn't give it my entire attention.
