There’s no better way to mark International Burger Day than by diving into Plymouth’s thriving burger scene. From gourmet brioche buns and juicy smashed patties to inventive global twists, the city has something for every burger lover. If you’re hungry and ready to celebrate, here’s a guide to the best burger spots in Plymouth.
Zephyr
It wouldn’t be a real burger list without mentioning Zephyr Burgers. They opened their first sit-down restaurant in Plymouth in 2022 and have been thriving ever since. Their mission was to create an everyday cheeseburger inspired by classic burger joints in LA, using the best of UK dry-aged beef. They also offer vegan, gluten-free, and vegetarian options. Make sure to give their California a go – it’s delicious!
It is also based a stone's throw away from Plymouth's award winning museum The Box, making it the perfect place to re-fuel!
Smashland Burgers
If your idea of a great burger is one that’s messy, cheesy, and unapologetically indulgent, Smashland Burgers is where you’ll want to head. As the name suggests, they specialise in smash burgers: beef patties cooked to crispy perfection with a juicy middle, stacked with all the trimmings. Their menu features creative options – including a Biscoff-topped burger!
Fry’s Grillhouse
A new venue in Plymouth and already making a name for itself, Fry’s Grillhouse has taken the classic grillhouse experience and given it a unique twist. Think beef burgers topped with brisket, mac & cheese, dynamite mayo, and more. Why not walk it off after with a stroll around the National Marine Aquarium? It's just down the road!
SoBe Burgers
Inspired by Miami’s South Beach, SoBe Burgers brings flair and big flavours. Expect vibrant toppings, bold sauces, and perfectly grilled patties that feel both indulgent and fun. Based in the city centre, it’s their creativity that makes them one of Plymouth’s most exciting burger joints. We recommend trying the truffle cheeseburger!
Tilt
Tilt is a street food tapas establishment based on Ebrington Street, offering a huge selection of delicious small plates – including a variety of sliders. Expect beef with chilli jam, buttermilk chicken with spiced honey, lamb and halloumi, and much more. If you’d like to test your taste buds, this is the place to come.
Bombay Burger Kitchen
This one’s for adventurous eaters. Bombay Burger Kitchen is a fuses Indian flavours with classic burger-making, serving up spiced patties, tangy sauces, and flavour-packed creations that bring something refreshingly different to the city’s burger line-up.
BrewDog
Craft beer and burgers are a match made in heaven, and BrewDog proves it. Their menu pairs juicy burgers with an extensive beer selection, making it a perfect venue if you want to celebrate International Burger Day with a pint in hand.
