This year is the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, marking 70 years since Her Majesty The Queen’s accession to the throne.
It will be the first time a British monarch has marked a Platinum Jubilee. This momentous anniversary will be marked with an extra-long Bank Holiday weekend from 2 to 5 June.
Celebrations in Plymouth will include the ceremonial lighting of a beacon on the walls of the Citadel, and street parties across the city.
There’s plenty of other activities taking place across the city during this extra-special weekend that you can get involved in, including the 1 Big Summer music festival which takes place on Plymouth Hoe from 2 to 4 June.
