Day 1:

Start your day wandering through the Barbican, known for its cobbled streets and rich maritime heritage, it's the perfect place to begin your weekend. Discover independent shops, art galleries, and cafés while soaking in the vibrant atmosphere. Don’t miss the Elizabethan Gardens for an ideal spot to soak up the sun and read quietly!

For lunch, head to The Boathouse, a waterfront restaurant offering fresh seafood and scenic views of Sutton Harbour. On sunny days, they retract the roof so you can eat al fresco. It’s a great place to relax and enjoy delicious food.

After lunch, take a Plymouth Boat Trip from the Barbican to Royal William Yard. This short, scenic boat ride offers lovely views of Plymouth and its waterfront. Royal William Yard is a vibrant spot with restaurants, shops, and stunning naval architecture, perfect for a stroll or relaxing in a deckchair on the green. If you need to cool off, head to Firestone Bay for a refreshing dip in the sea!

Finish your day with a delicious meal at The Hook and Line. It has a quirky, rustic interior designed to make you feel instantly at home. Hook & Line pays homage to Plymouth’s naval roots with the city’s first speciality rum bar, also serving carefully selected wine and their very own signature ale, the Hook, Line & Sinker. We recommend the prawn tacos!

Browse archival photos and films, and even try your hand at being a TV presenter, among many other interactive exhibits.

Don’t miss the recent exhibitions Forbidden Territories: 100 Years of Surreal Landscapes and Jyll Bradley: Running and Returning.

Continue your day by strolling along The Barbican and across to Rockfish. Indulge in a delicious meal al fresco with gorgeous views of Sutton Harbour. Their menu features a daily landings section offering freshly caught fish brought from Brixham fish market that morning.
