Search underway for a new City Centre Manager for Plymouth
3rd March 2017
The Plymouth City Centre Company (Business Improvement District) are now searching for a new City Centre Manager following the departure of Jon Walton to take on the position of CEO for the new Southampton BID.
Jon will leave Plymouth towards the end of May. Doug Fletcher, Chair of the City Centre Company said
“whilst we are sad to see Jon leave, it does present us with an opportunity to find a candidate who can carry on the good work that has been completed and some exciting projects planned. The process will be rigorous but we are confident we can make an announcement on Jon’s successor soon. At the moment it is very much business as usual.”
The Plymouth City Centre Company BID was the first outside London when it was established in 2005 and represents over 600 businesses. Jon Walton, City Centre Manager, said
“this was an incredibly hard decision, as Plymouth is a great city with some fantastic investment planned in the lead up to and beyond Mayflower. I am sad that I will not be able to be a part of this and will miss the city. I am incredibly grateful to Doug, Holly and the City Centre Company for giving me the opportunity to work in Plymouth, I have had a fantastic time here."
