About us
This is a two day folk event which was postponed from 2020 due to Covid-19.
It is organised by Plymouth Folk Roots with Marilyn Tucker and Paul Wilson of Wren Music, supported by Mayflower 400 Sparks funding.
The weekend commemorates the story of the Mayflower and celebrates the 90th birthday of the late Cyril Tawney.
On Saturday 9 October there is a full day of talks, open folk sessions and a choir workshop. In the evening there is a concert with Jim Causley, Marilyn Tucker with Paul Wilson, and Suthering.
On Sunday there is a history walk starting with a bell 'touch' and rendition of the Bell Ringing song found on Cyril Tawney's CD Mayflower Garland. In the afternoon there are opportunities to sing together and in the evening a concert with Shep Woolley, Den and Ned Couch, Plymouth Morris, Martin Hazell. Food and bar by Steve Barrett.
