Natural Colour Workshop Taster

11th June 2022 – taster session 2.5 hours

This workshop will introduce you into the world of natural colour and where we can find it
within our landscapes.
Spend the afternoon immersed in the power of natural colour with artist, dyer and grower, Ffion
Taverner.

We will explore the hidden qualities of natural ingredients, from homegrown flowers
to traditional dye ingredients to create an experimental spectrum of colour on natural fabrics.

We will learn how to create dye baths and more experimental methods of transferring colour on
to cloth; using the bundle dyeing technique.

This is using a steaming method to extract colour
and texture onto fabric.

This playful session will begin to unfurl your curiosities when it comes to colour, layering,
submerging, steaming, seeing and creating.

You will be left with an array of swatches filled with
colour and texture.
