About us

We are excited to present the first 'Tavistock Christmas Light Switch-On' with an evening of entertainment, food & drink. The winners of the Tavistock Customer Service Excellence Awards will also be announced.

Organised by Tavistock Improvement District (BID), the event gets underway at 4pm. The lights will be switched on at 5:45pm by local school children and a special guest.

On the night you can expect music, comedy from Entertainingly Different, a visit from some popular Children's Characters plus food from Eversfield Organic and Taylors.

In addition, many town centre shops will be open later and an Artisan Food & Gift market is taking place all day in Butcher's Hall where you can enjoy lantern making workshops, over 30 exhibitors, carol singing at 6pm and mulled wine!
