About us
Comedy in Tavistock is back. Again! Again! Plymouth based promoters "A Press of Suspects {presents}'' are returning to bring their unique brand of comedy night to good ol' Tavy! Taking place in the unusual setting of the old Courtroom at the reopened World Heritige Guildhall on the 22nd July. This night promises to be a bundle of laughs with a great varied line up with FIVE fantastic comics. Tickets either £10/14, pay what you can afford - you'd be a fool to miss out . All hosted by the anarchic, owl obsessed Willtordian Ballorian Edwardian.
TOM GLOVER: Loveable West Country favourite Tom Glover is a highly sought-after act and MC, capable of bringing laughter to any room. Tom combines tales of fatherhood and country living with hilarious observational routines on daily life. In recent times Tom also finished runner up in the prestigious Lastminute Comedy Club Comedian of the Year and reached the finals of the Inaugural Petfringe Comedian of the Year. His infectious personality and playful approach make him an instant hit with audiences, however Tom is perhaps best known for his excellent crowd work and quick wit that have earned him a number of regular compere roles at major venues across the South West. He's had two successful runs at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival with split shows and his debut full length solo show was nominated for Best New Show at the 2019 Leicester Comedy Festival Awards.
Edward Tripp: A stand-up comedy poet, writer and visual artist, living in Devon. Edward has previously brought his unique brand of spoken-word to nights and festivals such as Spork! Poetic Licence and WOMAD. "Strange, surreal and side-splittingly funny" - Razz Magazine. "Dave Allen meets David Lynch" - The Spoils Collective "…he's been known to cover himself in yeast and wield papier mache effigies of his mum's head, whilst delivering profound and universal truths…" - Spork!
Ben Treloar: A Cornish human male: a charming, disarming presence with great material. A now regular on the South West comedy circuit - one to watch out for in the near future.
Mimi Emily: Won the Cornish Comedian of the Year competition. AFTER 3 gigs! A complete natural, catch her before she hits the big time.
Ems Coombes: Up and coming Totnes based Comedian, a lady with little filter and big energy. Ems had a stroke and brain haemorrhage at 17 and has been (in her words) "ducking awesome since then". Funny and fearsome.
