About us

An exciting collaboration between jazz trio and string quartet, with two special guests – vocalist Georgia Mancio and classical guitarist John Williams (Kate's father). In the first set, Kate and Georgia will perform a collection of songs old and newly co-written for the jazz trio, string quartet and voice, linked by the concept of home. The programme includes works from the American Songbook, Chile and Brazil, as well as songs inspired by true stories of refugees leaving their homes and making the often dangerous journeys across Europe. (Georgia volunteered in the Calais refugee camp The Jungle between 2015 and 2016, meeting residents and NGO charities). Other facets of 'home' include the natural world and stories of love, loss and hope, ranging from the local to the global but always with a personal resonance. The second set includes John Williams, featuring a set of tunes written and arranged by Kate especially for this line-up. See http://calstockarts.org/category/whatson/ for more details. Times align to Tamar Valley Train service from Plymouth
