About us
This Summer, discover a wonderful range of paintings by Peter Stiles in our Cells. The exhibition features an eclectic mix of images from Plymouth Lido sparkling in the sunshine and charity shop windows, to kitchens, hallways, waterfalls and rock pools. Stiles creates paintings which commemorate lost events and feelings by transforming them into something else – akin to planting a tree among the ashes of someone you love.At 10.30am on Saturday 04 August why not come along to the historic Guildhall to do some sketching and painting with the exhibiting artist himself. Its absolutely free. If the weather is fine you will be working outside looking at the architecture around the Guildhall and if its wet you will explore the interiors. Peter Stiles will be on hand with advice and support (should you need it!). All abilities from the absolute beginner to the highly experienced are welcome. This event is free but an idea of numbers would be welcome so please let the Guildhall team know at guildhall@realideas.org know if you intend to come – but if it's a last minute decision just turn up.Materials won't be provided (beyond some paper and pencils) so please bring everything you need.
