About us
Much loved author Michael Morpurgo and cellist Clare O'Connell present a magical evening of music, storytelling and poetry. An open-air concert in aid of Farms for City Children, a charity enabling children from disadvantaged communities to experience the adventure of working together on the charities farms in the heart of the British countryside.
Inspired by Camille Saint-Saëns 'The Carnival of the Animals', Michael Morpurgo has penned accompanying poems on each animal of the humorous musical suite. As he reads the poems, he will be accompanied by cellist Clare O'Connell, who will perform the pieces by Saint-Saëns and many other composers.
Pentillie Castle invite you to lay down a rug, admire the view overlooking the River Tamar and enjoy those extra hours of sunshine at this family friendly fundraising event.
The performance starts at 7pm, with the gardens open from 5.30pm. Running time (approx): 1hr 5mins.
