About us

Merging a fevered imagination and solid songwriting with a mad scientist's brain for weird gadgets, Thomas Truax plays live in Plymouth.

After touring perpetually over nearly two decades with these 'band mates', Truax retreated to the lab during Covid lockdown to expand the menagerie of instruments with an exciting new contraption called Luna which he will be introducing in upcoming live shows. He hasn't played Plymouth since 2016 so don't miss out.

He is known for his unique self-made instruments including a motorized drum machine made of bike wheels and other found items named 'Mother Superior' and a souped up Gramophone called 'The Hornicator'

Truax crafts rich, poetically evocative songs about insects, trees, technology, and a lifelong obsession with things lunar. Notable supporters and collaborators have included Jarvis Cocker, Duke Special, James Konopinski Smith of Yard Act, Richard Hawley, Bob Log III, the Dresden Dolls and the late author Terry Pratchett..
