About us
COVID-19. We've been working hard behind the scenes to make sure we can care for guests and staff. We've introduced measures such as hand sanitisation stations and PPE and have been awarded the Visit England "Good to Go" and AA "Covid Care" certifications. We are ideally located just a stone’s throw from Plymouth’s stunning waterfront, the multi award winning Edgcumbe Guest House is just perfect for your stay in Plymouth.
This highly recommended, well maintained, top quality boutique guest house has a choice of en suite rooms to suit everyone and a self catering apartment which sleeps up to four people.
Treat yourselves to a stay in our luxury king size four poster bedroom which has an en suite complete with his and hers basins and double walk in shower, or the large triple room with king size bed and side view of the sea, or for more independence spread out in the spacious self catering suite which has a kitchen area too. We also have twin, double or triple rooms, two of which are on the ground floor. All our rooms are en suite and are beautifully decorated with luxury bedding, USB points and digital flatscreen Freeview tvs with dozens of channels as standard. All rooms have hairdryers, luxury toiletries and generous beverage trays with tea, coffee, hot chocolate, biscuits and chocolates.
By popular demand, rooms are available on a 'room only' basis as there are lots of cafes and restaurants close by where you lcan enjoy stunning views of Plymouth Hoe and the seafront. If you prefer, we offer a breakfast tray delivered to your bedroom. Along with a tasty hot breakfast bap, there's a selection of other breakfast items to choose from including cereals, yoghurts and juice. This is proving to be extremely popular as it means a more leisurely start to the day and gives you the option of having breakfast in bed. Breakfast trays are £15 per person and can be added to your booking at the time of booking or on arrival.
A hosted check-in is from 4pm - 9pm. For ultimate flexibility, you can opt for a self check-in which can be any time you choose from 12 noon.
We use roadside parking and have concessionary tickets available for our guests. Tickets cost just £5 for each day of your stay and can be pre-ordered or purchased on arrival.
Carla has been running Edgcumbe Guest House for 25 years and is proud to continue the ongoing refurbishment work which make this one of the top guest houses in Plymouth. The guest house has been in her family for over 50 years so she has a wealth of experience and knowledge about the hospitality industry and Plymouth as a destination and can help you with every aspect of your stay from booking taxis to recommendations for things to do and see.
We are within easy walking distance of theatres, Plymouth Pavilions, City Centre, The Hoe and Barbican. Plymouth University, the train and bus stations and ferry port are close by.
There are dozens of restaurants, bars, cafes and places to eat just a few minutes from us.
We are on the South West Coast Path and welcome walkers. We are proud to support the SWCP Association as a Waymaker and work alongside Luggage Transfers so you can be assured that your luggage will be dropped off and collected securely.

Hosted check-in is strictly from 4-9pm. There is a self check-in option offering ultimate flexibility and freedom which is available anytime from 12 noon. Please ask for details. Check-out is 10a.m It's often possible to leave your luggage here until later in the day, just ask!

Breakfast trays are served from 8-9am Monday to Sunday. A takeaway “breakfast in a bag” is available before 8am.
Parking
Roadside parking using a concessionary Visitor Ticket at just £5 per day. Tickets are available from the guest house.
