About us

Join us for a very special Climate Mingle as we head to Dartmoor Zoo for an evening exploring conservation, climate action and innovative environmental projects.

This informal, free networking event brings together climate-enthused people from across Plymouth to connect, share ideas and hear from inspiring local organisations.

Discover Dartmoor Zoo's sustainability projects

A representative from the Zoo will share insights into their environmental, conservation and sustainability initiatives, including plans to further reduce impact on the environment and support local biodiversity. You'll also learn about their growing partnerships with groups and organisations and how conservation work at the Zoo contributes to our wider climate and nature goals.

Learn about the Miyawaki Method

Bethan Rose from SocieTree will speak about their tree-planting work, focusing on their Miyawaki method and how these fast-growing, densely planted native 'micro-forests' support carbon sequestration, biodiversity and community resilience. They'll also highlight their joint project with Dartmoor Zoo, and maybe even get a sneaky peek at the planting site.

What to expect:
✅ An introduction from Dartmoor Zoo about their conservation and sustainability initiatives
✅ An exploration into SocieTree's Miyawaki micro-forests and their collaboration with the Zoo
✅ A relaxed evening of networking with local climate-focused people and organisations
✅ Light refreshments with time to chat and ask questions
