About us

"I looked back, just once, though I probably shouldn't have…"

Beyond Face CIC bring you their latest work directed by Alix Harris. Through movement, text and photography, the performers reflect on the past, present and future and take inspiration from it, asking the question, Who's Looking Back at You?

Beyond Face CIC are a theatre company based in Plymouth whose aim is to raise the profile and visibility of people of colour in the arts. Alix Harris is a director and theatre maker who brought you previous productions of Mixed Grill (2017) and Mixed Up Me (2015). Who's Looking Back at You? is the early stages of a new Beyond Face production and is the result of 2 weeks' worth of exploration with 6 artists of colour based in the South West.

This project has enabled 2 emerging artists - writer Cairo McFarlen and choreographer Victoria Horan - to receive mentoring from writer Titi Dawudu and choreographer Jules Laville and develop this production with Alix Harris.
